Welcome!I’ve been in the shoes of someone looking for a counselor, and I know it can be difficult and nerve-wracking. You’re courageously taking the first steps towards vulnerability, hope, and potential change. This potential is what makes me eager to create a safe space for you to grow, heal, and ultimately leave better than you came. I can’t express enough how sacred I consider your story; whether you’re arriving here with trauma, confusion, or struggling with a life transition, I hope to hold it with the utmost care and intention. We all deserve to be heard and seen, and if you are interested in learning more you can read below about what types of issues I tend to work with. If you’re not seeing a life experience that lines up with yours but are still curious about hearing more, please know I am open and excited about discussing whether I can provide what you need. You can find different ways to contact me below, and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

“…no matter how hard we try, we can’t hate or shame ourselves into change. Only love can move us toward true growth. This is the love given to us by a gentle, kind, compassionate, good God - and the love we are invited to give ourselves too.”

scheduling
I do all of my own scheduling. I have a variety of times available throughout the week. The quickest and easiest way get an appointment with me is to schedule online. You'll be able to see my available slots and grab one for yourself, as well as leave me personal note if you wish. If the online scheduler is giving you trouble, or if you think there is something we need to discuss before you schedule, feel free to text, call or email. My office is located in the Southern Saddlery Building at 3069 Broad St.
payment
Sessions are $110 and last 50 minutes. See pricing and location in the main menu for other related costs. I accept cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards and health savings account cards. I do not participate in any insurance networks and as a pre-licensed professional I am not yet able to offer diagnostic receipts for reimbursement.
Intake forms
Take a look at the 6 documents below. (#3 and #5 are long, complex documents required by the Federal Government. I'll put them into laymen's terms for you at the office. You've likely seen similar documents from other healthcare providers.)
- Fill out #1 and email to me - or complete at the office.
- Read #2, #3, and #4 ahead of time (sign electronically at the office - no need to print these out)
- If you need me to speak with a 3rd party - fill out and email #6 to me - or fill out at the office.
A little Bit more about me...
I believe all human beings desire to be deeply known, seen, and accepted in their mess, and healing from brokenness often involves being known and seen in the mess as well. My hope for the counseling room is to foster hope in your story in an environment where you can express your emotions safely. My love of counseling came through my own healing journey in therapy as well as my experience in high school ministry. My approach to counseling keeps the client at the center but is flexible to each individual depending on the need. I have a particular passion for healthy emotionality and am pursuing further training in Emotion-Focused Therapy. On a typical day in the counseling office you may find me with a teenage girl navigating the demands of adolescence and finding her identity, a woman grieving a miscarriage while continuing the demands of daily life, or an individual struggling to piece together their difficult childhood in a meaningful and healing way. When I’m not counseling, you could probably find me outside playing with my son, exploring Chattanooga’s many parks, or enjoying different coffee shops in town with my husband. It is my hope to offer a space for your healing, create something new with you, or help you through the trenches of life. I look forward to exploring if I can join you on this journey and hearing more about your story.
